From The Sierra Sun?..

Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK), a national nonprofit that fights childhood obesity, undernourishment and physical inactivity by helping schools become healthier places, launched its Every Kid Healthy Pledge (http://www.actionforhealthykids.org/every-kid-healthy/) to rally 100,000 people around efforts to ensure children are healthy and ready to learn.

In fact, as detailed in its 2011 annual report (www.actionforhealthykids.org), AFHK?s growing school-based wellness programs and initiatives reached 8.5 million students in 20,250 schools across the country last year. Through the Every Kid Healthy Pledge, AFHK plans to reach even more.
