Here are a few tips to replicate that fall feeling onto your dining tables:
Use Mother Nature:
Fall decorating does not have to cost a dime when Mother Nature is providing us with all our necessary decorating ingredients. Bring the kids and go for hike in the woods. By giving each child a basket or bag to collect leaves, stems, berries, rocks, pinecones, and acorns you will be creating a fun family time and building up a stash of items to decorate with. Once home, assess what items everyone collected and then brainstorm ways to use them as table d?cor.

You could press colorful leaves into small miniature picture frames and use them as place settings, or place the frames down the center of the table over a pretty table runner. Filling glass jars with a mixture of stones, acorns, and leaves can also be a nice center piece. If you collected longer twigs, they can be anchored into the glass jars amongst the stones, acorns, and leaves ? creating a tall centerpiece. Or you could simply scatter handfuls of colorful leaves and acorns along the center of the table amongst some pretty candles. Voila! Fall at your fingertips.

Fall decor craft items:
If you want to get a bit craftier, go hunting at your local thrift store for old wooden picture frames. Once home, pop the picture out of the frame and paint the frame whatever fall color appeals to you. Then cut poster board to fit into the back of the frame (you can buy lots of poster board colors at any local craft store). Decorate your poster board by gluing a collage of leaves, thin twigs, and orange glitter ? whatever suits you. Then glue or use double-sided tape to attach the poster board into the frame. Once complete these frames can be used as pretty serving trays, place mats, or center pieces. One more tip, if you want this project to be a bit sturdier, then buy frames with glass and then use this glass to cover your decorated poster board.
Go out and breathe in that crisp fall air while your stew is simmering on the stove ? you never know what Mother Nature will provide you.
