COOPER CITY, Fla. -- Lightning struck a ficus tree and knocked down two teens who were on it in Cooper City Thursday, according to a Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue official.
One boy fell 20 feet and the second teen landed on a branch. Both were conscious and alert and transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.
The lightning strike occurred just before 5 p.m. at a park in the 9100 block of Southwest 29th Street.
