Creative Allies Names Kevin Carroll Vice President Of Business Development For Entertainment And Music
October 4, 2011 Creative Allies, the online community for visual artists, has tapped long time music industry executive Kevin Carroll as Vice President of Business Development for Entertainment and Music. Carroll brings years of major-label experience to the table, including five years as Senior Vice President of EMI Music and five years as Vice President Promotions at Sony Music/Relativity Entertainment. Now, he will put his expertise to work bringing in big-name bands, film companies, and other media outlets to create stimulating new challenges for Creative Allies community of visual artists.
Kevins background in the industry is amazing, and we need his experience as we expand our label relationships with opportunities from high-profile acts, said Sean OConnell, CEO of Creative Allies. He knows how to construct inventive campaigns that reach the influential people that can break an artist into the mainstream, and how Creative Allies can fit into that story for musicians that want to leverage this kind of artistic social community. Theres no telling how many amazing opportunities he will generate for the Creative Artists family.
Social media is one of the most important tools bands have at their disposal now, but its very difficult to create a truly interactive experience where there is real input from the fans. Creative Allies involves both the influential graphic arts community and then also the fans through the voting process, and thats unique, said Carroll. Creative Allies goes way beyond radio in promoting meaningful one-to-one engagement. Theyve already offered some great things with Janes Addiction, The Beastie Boys, and Feist, and Im excited to work with Sean and his team to put together more great projects.
Carroll will continue to be based in the New York City area. In addition to his major label experience, he also has extensive experience in the radio industry, including three years as Vice President at Tri-State Music, where he operated as a liaison for radio ownership companies, including Clear Channel. In addition, Carroll is the founder and owner of Longball Music, an independent promotion and marketing company based in Connecticut, where he designed and implemented the multi-format radio campaign for American Idols Randy Jackson duets project and helped legendary soul singer Al Green win two Grammy Awards for his 2008 album, Lay It Down. Carroll began his career as a radio personality at several stations around the country.
