Teck Ghee celebrates N-Day with street parade & carnival

SINGAPORE: National Day celebrations in the Ang Mo Kio area got off to a colourful start on Saturday evening, as more than 7,000 residents gathered for a street parade and carnival.

The celebrations were organised by the Teck Ghee Grassroots Organisations.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his fellow Members of Parliament in the Ang Mo Kio GRC also joined in the celebrations.

They were treated to a series of multi-cultural performances put up by the residents and grassroots leaders.

After the parade, Mr Lee launched the Community Policing System in the Teck Ghee constituency.?

He toured a carnival and took part in a handicraft session.

The participants are involved in a community tapestry project that will form part of a bigger national tapestry to be showcased in next year's Chingay Parade.
