I?ve spent the last few weeks trying out HP?s ProBook 4430s. While there is a lot of attention on tablets, apps and social media, the boring, plain, simple notebook computer is still reigning with many business professionals.

The ProBook has a large 14? screen, built in optical drive and a finger print reader for extra security. I?m not a sound nut, but I know when your having down time and listening to music it?s nice to have some nice sound. The ProBook has?SRS Premium Sound, which in simple terms means it will sound better than your average notebook computer speakers.

There?s also an ?instant? on feature wherein the notebook boots up to a web browser so you have fast access to the Internet. For those of you who are only in the cloud, as I increasingly am ? you might use this feature more than you think.

The ProBook is not a super light notebook, but then again with special features, 14? screen, built in optical drive and an option 9 or 6 cell battery ? it?s not designed to be the lightest notebook in the world.

The brushed metal screams of durability and looks solid and professional.

At around $600 HP?s ProBook is a solid mobile work horse and competitively priced.

Shopping for a notebook computer can be like shopping for women?s shoes ? if you?re a man. There are so many choices, many are similar, so many different prices ranges. Although looking for one can be a challenge, it?s great to have so many choices for mobile computing options ? various models and a variety of vendors to choose from.
